Will Azelaic Acid Lighten The Skin?

12 March 2009 No Comment

azelaic-acid-lightenAzelaic acid is a very powerful product that is effective at treating acne, rosacea, blackheads, whiteheads and a host of other skin conditions.

It is well known that different acne treatments bleach the skin and clothes. Many people want to know if azelaic acid will lighten or bleach the skin? Unlike Benzoyl Peroxide, Azelaic Acid does not bleach fabric or clothing. However, the treated areas on the skin may experience some lightening or white spots. This mainly affects people with darker complexions and it is rare. Even though it is rare, if any of those side effects occur then you should visit a doctor just to be on the safe side.
